Publishing & Royalties
Register Your Works. Collect Your Money.
Every time your song plays on the radio, on TV, in a film, or streams on demand, it earns money. The problem is almost nobody collects it. We register your works the right way and help you collect the royalties your music earns — money that’s too often left on the table.
What No DIY Distributor Can Say
Done Deal Digital owns two publishing companies across both major PROs — Hideous Fonk Music on BMI and Done Deal Digital on ASCAP. Our founder has been a registered BMI writer and publisher since the ’90s — 20+ years with a real catalog of registered works on file.
An upload button doesn’t know how publishing works. We’ve been living it for three decades.
Register Your Works
You have an unregistered song earning money. We, Done Deal Digital, will register your works — $20.00 a song.
Done Deal Digital is the go-to for anyone serious about their music career. They bring a level of professionalism and authentic Bay Area energy that you just can’t fake.

Know Your Money
The Two Checks You’re Owed
Most independent artists collect zero of this because nobody ever set it up. Here’s what your songs actually earn.
Performance Royalties
Revenue generated over time from the use of your music on TV, film, and radio. It’s paid out by your PRO — BMI, ASCAP, or SESAC.
- You only get it if your works are registered
- You only get all of it if your splits are right
- We handle both, on both PROs
Mechanical Royalties
Revenue generated from streaming services like Spotify, Pandora, and Apple Music — but only when a listener plays your song on demand or downloads it.
- Earned every time your song streams or sells
- Easy to miss without the right registration
- We make sure it lands in your account
Plain English
Writer’s share is the half of the royalties that goes to whoever wrote the song. Publisher’s share is the other half — and if you don’t have a publisher, that money sits uncollected. Through Hideous Fonk Music and Done Deal Digital, we can hold the publisher’s side and make sure both halves get collected.
A split sheet is the paperwork that says who wrote what and who gets paid what — signed before anyone forgets. No split sheet is how an “unknown writer” ends up owning a piece of your song.
The Money Left on the Table
Three More Checks Most Artists Never Claim
The two above are your publishing side. These are separate — and most independent artists collect none of them, because nobody registered them. This is the money we go get.
SoundExchange
Pays digital performance royalties whenever your recording plays on Pandora, SiriusXM, and internet radio — a whole separate check from streaming, split between the master owner and the performers.
- A different pool than your Spotify mechanicals
- Sits unclaimed until you’re registered
- We register you and the featured artists
The MLC
The Mechanical Licensing Collective pays out US mechanical royalties from every stream. If you’re not registered, your share sits in a pool waiting to be claimed.
- Required to collect US streaming mechanicals
- Back-claims money already set aside for you
- We register your songs and your splits
YouTube Content ID
Fingerprints your music so you earn every time it’s used in any YouTube video — yours, a fan’s reupload, a cover, a vlog. Most independents never turn it on.
- Monetizes uses you didn’t even know about
- Protects your music across the platform
- We set up and manage your claims
Sync & Placements
Built So Your Music Can Get Placed
A sync placement — your song in a commercial, show, or film — pays a one-time fee and then earns performance royalties forever. We’ll tell you straight how to build a track that has a real shot at it.
- Original only — no interpolations or borrowed lyrics
- Watch the language; clean cuts open more doors
- Skip the brand and celebrity name-drops
- Be specific about the moment, vague on the details
- Mind the arrangement — intros short, stingers on the ends
- Quality over quantity — the better it sounds, the bigger the placement
