How It Works
Simple, and Straight
Claim your spot
Pick a tier and reserve your placement. That locks you into the next compilation.
Send your track + sign
You send your finished, sample-cleared track and sign a one-page placement agreement — a plain license that puts your song on the comp and leaves you owning it.
We release + pay you
The comp drops, your track goes out everywhere we distribute, and your share of every sale is tracked and paid to you through our split-aware ledger. Songwriters get paid too — every comp sale pays a statutory mechanical (2026 rate 13.1¢ per song under 5 min) to the song’s writers/publishers, handled for you.
The Fine Print, In Plain English
- You keep 100% of your copyrights. The placement fee is a service charge — it does not buy your music. Your master and your song stay yours. (Done Deal Digital’s compilation copyright covers only how the comp is selected and arranged — never your track.)
- Ownership vs. revenue, made plain. Keeping 100% of your copyrights is not the same as keeping 100% of the comp’s money. Done Deal Digital keeps an agreed share of the compilation’s sales as its service split; your share of every comp sale is paid to you.
- Paid placement. A slot is purchased, not editorially picked — this isn’t an “editorial best-of.”
- Non-exclusive. Being on our comp doesn’t lock your song anywhere. Put it wherever else you want, anytime.
- You get paid your split. Every sale of the comp is tracked penny-exact and your share is paid to you — you can see it.
- Songwriters get paid too. Every comp sale pays a statutory mechanical (2026 rate 13.1¢ per song under 5 min) to the song’s writers/publishers — we handle it.
- Released digitally. The comp goes out as a digital release (streaming + downloads). If we ever press physical copies, we clear physical mechanicals and handle the tax separately.
- Clean tracks only. Your track has to be your own work with no uncleared samples — we license it the right way so nobody gets a takedown.
- Refund policy. Placement is a service. Cancel any time before your track is locked into a released comp for a full refund; once it’s locked in and the comp goes out, the fee is non-refundable. Full refund policy · terms.
