This internship is about what happens after the record button stops. You take the raw, multi-track sessions out of B.A.R.Studio and turn them into a record that sounds good in earbuds, in a car, on a cheap phone speaker, and through a prison kiosk. Balance, EQ, compression, effects, automation — you learn to make every element sit right and hit hard.
Why it matters here: an independent artist's mix is competing with major-label budgets on the same playlist. We don't have those budgets, so the mix has to do the work. A great mix is how we get our artists taken seriously — and how we make sure the message lands clearly for the people who need to hear it most.
For the person who can hear what's wrong in a mix before anyone says it — detail-obsessed, patient, and hungry to make independent records sound major.
